View Full Version : DVobSub 2.11 displays wrong aspect ratio

I installed vobSub 2.11 and when playbacking the movie in 1:1.77 I get it played in 1:2.35. I have "extend picture to 4:3" chosen so that the subs can be moved to the black bars at the bottom. When selecting "extend picture to 16:9" it works, except that the black bars won't show the subs of course.

Can somebody confirm? Is it a bug or my personal problem?

It is a bug introduced with this version, acknowledged by Gabest himself. Have a look at the thread http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22281 which was incorrectly posted to the General section of the forums. Atm, your best option would be to revert back to v2.09, but I guess a fix is to be released soon.

Thanx, Gabest, DVobSub works again in Zoom as a charm! Btw, there are (still) problems with Radlight player, when DVobSub is configured to extend to 4:3. You may have a look at this thread (http://216.194.92.96/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=134&sid=d7e8e3bab729e9157e23388e7090d7f7) if you wish for further info.

Phew, what a thread that was :)

About the problem, I set aspect ratio in radlight to "Free" and then I could resize the picture to normal and it looked ok in full screen, too.

Btw, I'm always surprised when somebody who develops something forgots to use the debugging dlls. Every seeking in radlight 3.03 r5.1 pops up an annoying dialog box four times. Also the divx 5 codec tries to write a null pointer several times when starting up. Simply amazing...

Thx for the fast update!
I just discoverd that there is a green arrow in the system tray, with what you can change the language in .OGMs. Great! I was using VobSub for half a year now probably, funny :)

I was dissapointed, that Zoom Player wasn't showing the languages for OGMs, but having VobSub installed is almost as good ;)

Blight asked me to hide the tray icon when his player (that's zoomplayer) is active. However, if you rename its executable, the arrow comes back ;)

Is Blight considering to integrate your DVobSub menu into the player? I would hope so, else he would be needing to change his Player all the time you update something, right?

Every filter may implement an interface which the players could use to list/set the selectable streams. The reason why zoomplayer only shows dvs's options is because it doesn't ask other filters too. I think we should ask Blight to extend his player to search the whole graph instead of only dvs.

Aaaah, ok, I've been wondering for ages what happened to the arrow after a certain version, since it's still available when I use WMP... Thanks for clearing that up!

Man I love search functions :D . I was just going to ask about this. It hadn't really been important to me up until recently for multilingual Oggs and chapter support. Thanks for the quick fix. I had just starting screwing around with the manual filter settings, but your way is much easier ;) .
