I read most of what i see here but have this problem.

When I play AVI with DD5.1 AC3 muxed streams, the output from my SPDIF is not really the original AC3 stream, but the proccesed watred-down output from the soundblaster software, only DS2.0.

I can NOT get iviaudio setting to stick for "Enable SPDIF output", whenever the video continues this resets to either "2 speaker" or "dolby digital". I have seen the registry fix for this, and that works for WinDVD's decoder, but NOT iviaudio.ax.

AC3 out works fine with WinDVD, full 5.1 sound.

System rundown:
Mobo: Tyan tiger MPX
Video: Cardexpert GeForce3 Ti200
Sound: Soundblaster Live 5.1
OS: WinXP Pro
Relevent Apps: Sasami 2k Mediaplayer, WinDVD 3.1
Audio Hardware: Denon 3801 Audio/Video Receiver :D

PS: WTF is up with that correct voltage thing, SBlive uses some

You posted in the FAQ right after I ask people not to didn't you **grin**

Uhmm...just so you know the iviaudio and ivivideo filters are WinDVD's filters it uses for the AC3 streams. I think your confusing something here.

You most likely are missing one of the settings thats listed in the FAQ such as Wave Out, turn decode AC3 off, etc.

Check the settings again and please report back a little more specifics such as what player your using and how the audio config is setup.

Well, iviaudio is the filter used when i play an AVI/AC3 using sasami and am able select from the filtergraph menu. (as its also a component of the AC3 pack found on this server)
It looks exactly the same setting menu as found in WinDVD, except the top tab says "iviaudio".

I use sasami mostly. I would not know where to pull up the filter settings from WMP anyhow.

I installed the sblive 5.1 drivers cd. I use the applet to select "5.1 speakers" mode and try playing with "digital output only" (that has no effect) I use spdif out to my denon receiver.

And yes, i did post in the FAQ, noticed that you had just posted not to, and removed the post *hehe*.

Problem as I see it if SPDIF out will not turn on from the iviaudio filter from playing AVI. It works with WinDVD.

You didnt say if you had selected SPDIF in the ivi filter or not. SPDIF should be slected.

I doubt the drivers on the CD are the latest knowing how often Creative has to update them for various reasons. Please check this site for more info on the 5.1 card and drivers.
