How do I make a divX-file from a picture I have (With or with out audio (if you know with...please write then))?
I've tryed, in virtual dub, to open a BMP with the "open video function" but I just got this (see attachment).

import the image into adobe premiere.
place it into your timeline and stretch it out to the appropriate lenght.
save as uncompressed avi.
load new avi in virtual/nandub and encode.
There's probably a simplier way but what ever works, works.

Bull,
If you want to create an AVI file out of bunch of bitmap images, then there is an freeware app called "Bmp2Avi". This app will "stitch" a sequence of Windows Bitmap files into a RIFF .avi file.
There are other programs that are similar to this, but they deal with JPEG instead of Bimap files. Some of them even transform your JPEG files into a VCD-compliant MPEG and so you can use your DVD player and watch it on TV... Cool, Eh?!! The only catch is these programs are not freeware. ;)
Cheers,
Try TMPGEnc. Open the bmp as the Video Source, open any wav file you want for the Audio Source, and then save it has a High Quality mpg.
Then of course, use VDub to change the mpg to a DivX AVI.
