I'm encoding Tenchi Muyo Movie 1. But I'm having a problem. The scenes with lightening are really pixelated. The bitrate is also around 825 i believe. Please, check these settings out, and tell me what I'm doing wrong? I need suggestions. You also need Vobsub 2.09
Thx!

1. lower res.
2. disable luma correction.

Hi-
I agree with OUTPinged. I did that one at 544x304 (this is Tenchi Muyo-In Love, right?). Also-did you put on a Sharpen Filter? If so I would take that off. And if you know how to edit the stats file using GKnot, you can give more bits to just the troublesome scenes, whereas using only Nandub, your settings apply to the whole movie.

2Sorrow: :-) now here is some kind of popularity

2mamono: giving more bits to actual scenes is a bad approach, as you almost surely will miss some scenes and it will popup later.

but i havent seen that movie so guess you will give more competent answer.

Hi OUTPinged-

Yes, you're right of course (as usual), if all you have to go on is the first pass stats file. But he mentioned specific scenes from the final .avi. So I figured he could reencode it giving particular attention to those problem scenes.

And if he prefers working only within Nandub, he might consider disabling Curve Compression as well as the Luma Correction to insure that those super high action scenes get more bits (at the expense of the static scenes).

boo to static scenes!
No curve compression, no curve modulation, down with low motion scenes!!!
