just wondering why most people use WMP 6.4 instead of 7.1? Are there problems with 7.1? I have tried using it to play an .ogg file with no luck. Anyone downloaded Forsaken: desert vampires in ogg format and gotten the sound to corespond with the video?

well.. I think you've answered your question already.. wmp7 doesn't really work.. no subtitle or multiple audio track selection using vobsub, morgan splitter, or ogm splitter, no access to filter properties, bloated crapware. I think that about summarizes it ;)

that's what I thought but wasn't sure. Don't know much about it so I thought I would ask before I downgraded to 6.4. Would that explain why the sound for the movie desert vampires was a track from some other movie. I actually used sasami2k to play it and it did the same. Does that MP also suck?

Because it is nice and simple, small too.
Also very very stable.
and it should already be in the directory C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe for WXP that is.
So it means you don't have to download it.
Although I use 6.4,
I would also like to recommend BSplayer, or Zoomplayer.
