Here's an odd question....a friend and I are exchanging SVCDs we have created with DVD2SVCD. He was not aware of the Title Pic feature of connecting to IMDB and getting the movie pic (so much for reading the FAQs :) ) My question is this: Can I somehow copy the SVCD but put a new Title Pic in? I would like to change the default DVD2SVCD Smiley face (beautiful as it may be) to the Movie title pic from IMDB. Any suggestions on how to do this if it's even possible? I don't want to re-encode the movie just to get a different Title Pic!! Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I am only guessing, but if you could strip the mpg file and create new bin/cue files after the new title picture has been processed it would be like a new encode minus the encoding. You would need to trick crash recovery to different points of the process, but I am sure it can be done. All you would really need it a program to grab the mpg out of the SVCD. I know there are programs that can do it, but I don't remember their names.
Sorry only a little help here.

I had some SVCDs without chapters. So I just copied the MPG-File with explorer to my harddisk and then made bin/cue again with TSCV. This way I can define chapters in TSCV. I think there is also a title-pic feature in TSCV, but I never tried it, maybe this can solve your problem.
The only possible problems are your original chapters, you will lose them by just copying the MPG.

VCDEasy is a program that will extract an XML file as well as all the folders (and their files)on your SVCD and create new bin/cue images files.
(download at this website):
VCD Easy (http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcdeasy.htm)
It's actually not so cumbersome, but ....
1) Install VCDEasy and set it up.
2) "Disassemble a (S)VCD disc" under the "Tools" - "(S)VCD Build/Rip" tab using VCDXRip.
3) Modify the XML file to reflect a change of title picture. If you want you can look at an XML file from another one of your encodes to see where the title picture script fits in. Keeping most of the XML script should preserve all of the chapter/PBC functionality of the original disc.
4) Execute the modified XML creating "VCDXbuild" also on the "Tools" - "(S)VCD Build/Rip" tab which will create a a new bin/cue pair.
5) Use VCDEasy as the GUI for CDRDAO to burn the new images ("Tools" - "CDRDAO Tools")
Voila!! I use VCDEasy with CDRDAO to burn all of my bin/cue images that I created with DVD2SVCD.

Wouldn't I need to encode the new title pic to insert it using VCDEasy? I'm just guessing here.....
Thanks for the responses. This all sounds like way too much effort just to swap out a title pic. I do appreciate the ideas though!
Thanks Again.

Yes you would have to encode a new MPG pic but VCDEasy has another utility called MPEG Stills (VCDEasy acts as a frontend GUI for MJPEG 1.6.0-beta 1) which will take your image file and convert it to MPG format.
This is also good for making Photo SVCDs using VCDEasy.
