I earlier had a problem what to do with my bin files i had from making AVI to SVCD using DVD2SVCD and tmpgenc. After encoding Lost in space for 14 hours? I came up with the told files and burned them in Fireburner.
The opening sequens works on my dvd (Cyberhome) and the movie plays, with sound, BUT with a green screen instead of picture....WHY?
I'm soo confused again since I did what everyone told me to.
I have tried to burn in diff. speeds without any change to output.
I have my Log file here for u to look at if nec.
PLEASE HEEEELP!
*My computer is a P3-450,512 Mb RAM,and a 60 Gb HD.Memorex 12* burner.

Hi Dredd,

usually when the screen is green there is something wrong with the AviSynth script or something like that. So please post it here.

Also it is very strange that the first image holds nearly the whole movie (7809 sec) and the other two images only 2 seconds. So perhaps there's something wrong with the source too.

Try if the AviSynth_Script_file.avs plays in Media Player properly and report back on that.

Greetings,
Gerti

This also should be noted that fireburner is not recommended for burning svcd's.

I've had the best luck of any burning tools with fireburner.
Will the movie play on your computer at all, like with windvd? Or do you still get the green screen there?

this is a part of the readme file from dvd2svcd :
5. When DVD2SVCD is done, you should have 2 or more BIN/CUE files. I recommend using Fireburner to burn those images to CD's.

so what is the more apropriate ?
nero?
cdrwin?

@clixomano I know it's confusing since that is in the readme file, but the story behind fireburner is this "i hope my memory serves me well here hahah" Anyways with the early versions of fireburner it seemed to burn the cue/bin files great!!! then as new versions and more people started also using fireburned we come to find that it gave alot of people issues, I myself could not get it working to name 1 So the guys at doom 9 like a month or so ago have put together a full proof way of burning and which software is recommended here is that sticky.. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19415

i see what you mean since i use that method from the begginig ( early versions) it is at my opinion the best way since you can even test it befoure you burn, to see if the stiil pic is in place , if the chapters are ok and so on. ( this is a normal proceadure when you whant to check any iso image )

Has anyone determined the cause of this problem?
I had the same thing happen to me.

I can't explain the effect totally. I believe, the problem is really the ripping. I have the problem sometimes (e.g. converting "THE MATRX"). To check, what the problem is, I tried many things:
- I used for ripping the smartripper (without ASPI) - and got a green movie again.
- With CBR the conversion was successfully. Coosing the VBR (with the same rip), the result was a green movie again.

:) After some experiments, I have much more success now.

Try this, perhaps the movie is OK than:

1. Use the newest ASPI driver. I used the V1.0 - and had very often problems. I installed the 4.6, now the 4.71. It runs better now.

2. Try to initialise the DVD with a DVD player (WinDVD, PowerDVD or VLC).

Hi Dred,

In order to eliminate the problem has been caused by FireBurner
you can diagnose the bin/cue files by installing daemon tools.

http://www.daemon-tools.com/

You mount the image and see if it plays in Power DVD XP (4.0) or
any other SVCD player you normally use.

If it doesn't, you can't blame fire burner....
