Greetings!

Some of you might know that an Ogg Vorbis ACM codec exists, a few might even have used it. But I'm afraid that least of you can read japanese text... unfortunately, this is the only language I found for the docs. So here my question: Does anyone know a good translation of the latest codec's docs into e.g. english? At least; I really want to know what the encoding modes are, how they work, how they differ. My current guess is that they are related to the channel coupling.

So please, tell me about "mode{1|2|3}[+]".

Just a rough guess: If it is pre-rc3 based, it might be referring to the old vbr modes.

Version 0.0.3.3 (2002/01/19) is based on RC3 and still shows them; the latest beta I saw on the homepage http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA012897/ (2002/01/30) seems not to be much different and is rather old anyway. Maybe their author either forgot about it, or it is intentional and maybe got a different meaning (e.g. something about the channel coupling modes). Therefore it is so important for me to know what they mean, previously (I don't remember anymore how the old modes worked) as well as now.

On the sourceforge page http://sourceforge.net/projects/vorbisacm is still nothing official...

Of course I prefer using e.g. BeSweet or HeadAC3he - but there are people I can only convince by ACM, because they are already used to it, and other technologies are a bit too complicated for some people <B-E-G>!

Well he is making a Direct Show filter, but I wouldn't count on it that it will be substituting everything else....
