In my ever continuing evolvement in the use of DVD2SVCD, I seem to have reached another question I can't seem to answer. I can't seem to be able to get the individual "chapters" to be chosen at will. For playback, I am using an Apex AD-1500. It has a function on the remote that should give me a choice of chapters. I think perhaps I'm making a mistake during the use of DVD2SVCD. Is there an area in this forum that speaks about encoding chapters? I checked before I posted this but couldn't find anything. Thanks.

I don't know if you are asking how to encode a single chapter or how do I jump to a chapter on your DVD player?
If you wish to encode just certain chapters select internal routines on the rip tab, click on the time shown in the conversion tab, this will bring up a popup and you simply uncheck the chapters you do not want.
If you want chapters you have to have selected VCDXBuild or I-Author and select the type of chapters you want and then you must burn the Cue/Bin files, not the mpg files. I do not know if you can just type in the chapter you want on your player and go directly to it.

Ted, I think I know what you're asking.
I have the same player, and the chapters are there. They just don't show up on the LED as indivdual track numbers. If you advance through the SVCD by pressing the "Next/Previous" buttons on the bottom of the remote, you will advance through the same chapters as on the DVD.
This is assuming you have selected "PCB ON".
Hope this helps you.

Thanks Mark and Caliburn.
I'll be sure to put the problem in the Post Subject Header.
I regard to Mark's reply:

I did follow those directions but don't seem to be able to burn the completed Cue/Bin files using Nero 5.5 It only lets me burn the MPG files. Don't know if there's a Nero forum here. Do you possibly know the trick for burning Cue/Bin files using Nero?
Thanks

Read the forum a little. Big Sticky above Foolproof way to burn SVCD's

I prefer using VCDEasy or CDRWIN. I do not like Nero, but using the foolproof method seems to work very well.

I'll second CDRWin, never had a problem.
Good luck.

If you don't use the bin/cue and burn the MPG, no matter with Nero, winoncd etc., you can't get any chapters (unless you define your own in this programs), because the chapter info is not in the mpg file but in the cue file.
If you WANT to use Nero, you have to use 'file', 'burn Image', and don't start new SVCD-project. With versions 5.5.6.4 and above some problems with Nero are gone, but others are still there. Try yourself if Nero will do the job for you, but be aware that many people report of problems with Nero.
