Not if you keep everything. But if you remove anything you will need to correct the pointers.

That doesn't seem to be always true. I recently did a backup of "Romeo is Bleeding" It is a DVD-5 and I simply copied it to my hard drive and wrote it to DVD-R. It didn't work on my standalone so I checked it to find what was wrong. I ran IFOEdit's Get VTSSectors and if found several changes that needed to be made. I saved the changes and it worked.

I'd ripped it with SmartRipper. Apparently something got changed in the rip... not sure what.

You're right, it probably is safest to always correct the pointers. Unless, like me, you use a burning tool that obeys the pointers and places the files where the pointers say, and not where it feels like it. You can determine this using the test files at http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/

What Derrow has done is set the pointers to the most acceptable values to burner programs.

BTW. Nice work on your site. The DVD Information and formatting structure is the best anywhere. I've found the answer to many difficult questions there...

Thanks for the great site.
