thanks for the update :)
i get 4% faster encode times, but 2% bigger filesizes with the new SSE dll.

@ D A,
I emailed you my benchmarks. After further looking into it, I confirm canadian_fbi's filesize difference as well.
PGO DLL final size- 5,295K
Vorbis Single SSE- 5,229K
Cheerz for the speed boost though.

I guess the deviation comes from the new code.

D A,
This code is pre RC4 right?

I dunno if it called "pre RC4", but the PGO one is latest and on my site latest but one file.

Edit: Sorry, my fault. I forgot to close HeadAC3he :o

I have made new builds of ICL Vorbis dlls using latest CVS code, which should give you some quality improvements.

BTW, DA, i was trying to point some of the Vorbis developers to have a look at your modified Vorbis sources ... and i couldnt find the sources on your page ??
Is this because Vorbis is not GPL but has a free license ? .. i admit i dont know the license in detail .. do you have to make the sources public ?? .. anyway, would it really hurt you to have your sources on your homepage ?? I would for sure appreciate, as i still want all of your modifications to be included into CVS, at least the functionality, and Vorbis dev people are willing to have a look ... Thanks !

i was just wondering, what are the sorts of improvements that go into each of these new and improved dlls? i've noticed the file sizes getting slightly higher in the last few, and i would assume quality was going up as well, though small improvements in quality are a much harder thing to judge. is it just slight improvements and optimizations in the code? i wasn't aware until you were posting these new dlls that vorbis development was continuous ala xvid - i'd always thought it just jumped from RC to RC.

Hello
I like lossless coupling channel even in low quality (q=1)
With precedent versions of vorbis.dll (i have 1.64) the choice of choosing the type of coupling channel works well.
Now with 1.67 version, no matter what i choose, i got always the same filesize and bitrate. So i think it's broken

Unfortunately trying to see a clear cut cut changelog in the CVS is like pulling teeth. All the devs mentioned in this lasted build is that quality improvements have been added. I'm in the process of trying to monitor these changes as well. If your running Mac OS X or Linux then getting a changelog is apparently easy:)
@canadian_fbi
CVS is updated almost weekly for Vorbis and sometimes more. D A's latest dll is considered pre-RC4, certainly better tunned than RC3 on the lowend of the scale.
