I was wondering if you could add a function to strip entire chapters? sometimes i want to remove the credits to get a movie to fit on a DVD-R without resampling but i can only strip vob ids and sometimes each chapter has a seperate vob id and its all sweet i can get rid of the credits.. but if not i have to smartrip then use create ifos but it makes chapters based on cell ids and most of the time it doesn't match up :(

Any help would be appreiciated

Use VobEdit to get rid of the end credits!

Read my guide about transcoding a single cell using VobEdit:
http://mpucoder.dynodns.net/Derrow/remuxcell.html

But I'm sorry, I can't add a chapter stripping function to IfoEdit right now.
Cause it is not possible to strip cell's inside a movie.
Well of course you could strip cell's out with VobEdit, but then the movie won't be playable anymore with a settop player, cause the seamless playback will be broken.

Maybe one time I'll find a solution for it, and add this functionality to IfoEdit too. :)

Found a away around this problem, what i do is when using IFOEdit with VOBExtras i tell it to split to 2 dvd-rs, now i just select the chapter that has the credits as the split point and the resulting vobs and ifo in the first directory have the whole movie without credits & the second directory has the credits..

So i just burn the movie directory and delete the credits.. worked fine so far for two movies "K-Pax" & "Life as a house" both of these movies with the credits, ac3 & video were just that little bit to big for a single dvd-r.. removing the credits gives you a nice tightly packed disc at 4.37gb :))))

Thanks again derrow for a great program!

Hello Equinoxe,

Just one question about your method.
The movies that you rip using the credits split point, have multiple ID, on the main movie VOB file, i think they have and that it's only possible if we have a chapter associated with the beginning of credits.
What about the movies with only one ID in the VOB files like twelve monkeys?
I think we have to use VOBsplit.

Derrow,

You say that using "VobEdit, ... the movie won't be playable anymore with a settop player", is this correct?
If I use VobEdit to remove end credits the movie won't play on settop players?

No, if you just remove the end-creditz with VobEdit, that's okay!
I will play fine.
But if you remove cell's in the middle of the VOB files, then a standalone player will stop playing the movie, at the point, where you cutted the cell.
