I have been using DVD2SVCD for about 10 backups now. I never had a problem. I woke up today to do another one and this is where the problems began. As usual, I inserted the DVD into my player to play the movie for a few minutes. Today I noticed the picture was "jumpy" (like my computer couldn't keep up with the movie) and not very smooth. This is what I have done so far to try to fix it...

1) Did a system restore back to yesterday (when everything was running fine)
2) Unsuccesfully uninstalled QuickTime which I installed yesterday (stupid program wont uninstall)
3) Did a defrag
4) As always, I closed all non-essential programs
5) tried other DVD's to see if maybe that one was flawed..not the problem obviously.

My signature has my system details which is more than sufficient. Does anyone have a clue what the problem could be. I have been searching all day for an idea what to try but havent found any that I haven't already listed above. Thank you to everyone who replies.

Did you think about cleaning the DVD drive? If you've never cleaned it before you'd be surprised what you can find in there...
