View Full Version : Divx4 and Divx5 under WinXP with GKnot

I'm not sure is this the right place.
I have a problem using GKnot under WinXP when there is installed Divx4 and Divx5. When I try comp. check or to encode it returns me error (I guess GKnot starts Divx5 and Divx4). Under WinME it works OK. Are there anyone else with same problem?
Please , if anyone know solution , tell me .
Thanks.

look here in the Gknot section for a thread called "after Divx4 Comp.Check no %value",
there you find the answer :) .

Yes , I know that but I'm asking when you have both divx installed at same time . I know that it works all OK under Win ME but not under Win XP Pro.

It doesn't work under 98SE neither.

I haven't had the time yet, but I want to try changing the divx5 codec to "divx5.dll" (according to the "divx4&divx5 at the same time" guide), then changing the divx4.dll codec to "divx.dll".
Then, I think divx4 compressibility checks with Gknot should work. Maybe you've done so in ME?

I didn't do anything extra from guide (well I wrote it myself :)) and it works OK for WinME. I even installed Nimo Pack 5 (on WinXP) in hope that will be ok but nothing . I'll try to do some diging in register to find solution. If you find it before me please post it.

use a divx3 comp check

Or use Jonny's way of doing divx5 comp checks. Look for his post in the divx5 forum. It works great with me.

To UHT: I am glad to see that you are back here more often :)
