Just figured out another problem, whit the splitting function in IfoEdit.
The problem apears, if a Title-Set has more then 1 title like Miss Congeniality:
VMG Overview:

Number of Title Play Maps: 5 (VMG_PTT_SRPT)
Title 1: VTS_1, TTN_1 (Angles: 1) (Chapters: 33) (Start Sector 1071)
Title 2: VTS_1, TTN_2 (Angles: 1) (Chapters: 1) (Start Sector 1071)
Title 3: VTS_1, TTN_3 (Angles: 1) (Chapters: 1) (Start Sector 1071)
Title 4: VTS_2, TTN_1 (Angles: 1) (Chapters: 1) (Start Sector 2866778)
Title 5: VTS_2, TTN_2 (Angles: 1) (Chapters: 1) (Start Sector 2866778)

As you can see TitleSet 1 has 3 titles.
When splitting now the movie to 2 DVD-R's, only 1 disc will contain all titles, the other one might only conain 1 of these 3 titles.

If you try to play disc2 with IfoEdit's DVD Player, you may get the error: DVD Warning: Illegal navigation command encountered.

Currently there's following solution to it:

If you want the movie to start imidiatly at disc
insertion, edit the first play pgc in VIDEO_TS.IFO and
change the jump command there against 'Jump TT', and
let it jump to title 1 (If title 1 is your main movie).

If you want to start with the menu first, exchange the
jump command against (JumpSS VTS), and let it jump to
title-set 1, title 1, root menu. (If your movie-menu is in titleset 1, title 1)

To change the command in first play pgc, open
VIDEO_TS.IFO with IfoEdit, go into the table VMGI_MAT.
There is the first play pgc.
Scroll down to the commands, and simply right click
the mouse over the existing command, and choose change
command from the context menu.

Thanks, Derrow! This is the exact problem I reported on March 18. Your instructions solved the problem for me. I'm now able to play the movies successfully.

Derrow, I've read your guide on this, but I'm not splitting the movie, I've followed the "idiots guide to keeping the dvd menu" but everytime I go to play it, the opening plays(the part where the tristar logo is shown)then I get the illegal navigation, I hit ok, then the menu selection comes up. I've looked for a duplicate VTS and there isn't one. Any help?

Derrow, I still have a problem. I'm still getting the "illegal navigation, and I followed your guides to the T, I even get it with all the files ripped to my hard drive and I do a dvd play from IFO edit then. On the Video TS file. I started my movie in WinDVD and it plays fine. Could there be a problem with IFOEDIT? I've tried .9 and .89 and .88 and get the same problem. Here's a list of the files in my folder.

VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.VOB
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_07_0.BUP
VTS_07_0.IFO
VTS_07_0.VOB
VTS_07_1.VOB
VTS_07_2.VOB
VTS_07_3.VOB
VTS_07_4.VOB

What I want to do is keep the orignial menu, and I followed the guides. What I did, was strip all files to my HD, used the guide to find out which title set I needed, Title Set 1 which has vts 7. SO I did that, stripped out everything that I didn't want(the only thing I kept was the english lang no subtitles). Then I stripped out the warnings, and then I did the region free, and that went good, but I'm still getting the illegal navigation error. But it plays fine in windvd, I've missed something I'm sure. But I'm kinda curious, because I got the error from the get go, before I even did anything to the files. The files are from Vertical L***t. Thanks in advance

UPDATE The illegal Navigation error only happens when I play the movie and it moves from the VMG to the VTS menu's, I've tried using the change command to (JumpSS_VTSM)Jump to Titleset Menu, and put in Title Nr. 1 Titleset Nr: 7 and Menu: root, then it skips the lead in and goes directly to the menu options. ie: play movie, select scenes, etc..it doesn't play the lead in to the menu option.
