i was curious if there's a way to eliminate highlight selection on a dvd Menu screen. for example, if you put a dvd in your settop player..then you get the options to play the movie, previews, language selection, edit scene..so forth and so on. well, let's say you select to view the possible languages on the dvd and the movie has 3 language selection: english, french and spanish. my question is:
is there a way to eliminate one of the possible language selection -so therefore it can not be visually selected or highlight?

that same question goes for wide screen and full screen selection menu...is there a way to stop the viewer from selecting the version that isn't on the dvd?

hopefully someone can answer this for me...what file or thing i need to do to be able to do this? thanks

check this out ... it's a slow manual method but it sort of works .... but i dont think their is a way to edit the button jumps in the ifos .. just make them non working

as i was typing this i just thought of somthing .. it would be possable to tack a 10 second still shott at the end of the movie saying "sorry this option is disabled" and useing scenirest ( if your doing a cce encode .. your their anyway ) to make it a cell&chapter/program ... then it's just a matter of adding that extra cell to the ifo ... could probly sneek it in on the end movie cell ( better yet the layer change ).

i'm going to be doing "Dragon" ( Bruce Lee story ) tonight .. i may try that.

I'm just thinking of something about the Button-commands.

I would be possible to edit the command of a button. But this has to be done in the VOB file.
Each button can have a command, and mostly they just jump to a PGC in the IFO file.

To edit these commands in the VOB files, I would have to enhance VobEdit, to make this possible.
Currently VobEdit only displayes VOB file information.

Would anybody need such a feature?

one of the things i would like to do is change the "bonus menu" on alot of dvd's to go to just 1 trailer then return back to the main menu .. instead most dvd's have several other menus in the bonus menu .... a good example is Dragon .. i would like to keep the main movie and also the 15 min B&W interview with Bruce Lee ... ifoedit allows me to find what VMG_PCG calls the interview ( VTS_02 ) then because i know the cell of the first bonus menu i look to see what program uses that and just change the first (pre) command to call that VMG_PCG , so their is quite alot that can be done with buttons just in ifoedit ... of course the more tools avilable ( vodedit etc. ) the more that becomes possable , and editing the buttons directly would make life a whole lot simpler ... removing the highlight of unused buttons wouldnt be so bad either.

LOL ironicly i tried to remake the menus in scenartist and the movied played fine but it had no menus.

i agree...if it is possible to edit in a way, that you can remove the highlights on a menu so that they can't be selected would be great. heck, even the button thing sounds great...only if it's possible. i guess the great thing about menu is to actually have more selection than the core movie. now, we just need to modify what can be selected on a menu...well, that's just my point of view.

Again, Derrow, i was looking for your input and not necessarily asking this to be done...just curious how you would handle something like this..and perhaps consider this to be a future feature of IfoEdit or VobEdit?
By the way, I am greatful that you are helping us out so much...THANK YOU for IfoEdit!!!
