Question about splitting on DVD-R & CD-R with IfoEdit

Hi Derrow (also to all others *G*),
I have make the following test...

I don't want change the bitrate.
I have split Hard to Kill (Steven Seagal Film), because its to long.
So after splitting i copied the Files that the film needed, adjust the chapters, make a region code free and than GetVTSSectors on both directories.

Now i have ca. 400 MB in the directory.
I have checked with the integrated DVDPlay Button and it works fine.
Now i burned it on a normal CD-R.
The CD-R plays without problems in my PC Drives with Power DVD, but not on my Stand Alone...

So could it be that the Stand Alone check if it a "true" DVD-R ?
Or must i make other changes in IfoEdit to get it to work on a Stand Alone ?

The reason why i make this instead of using a 2nd DVD-R is only the price.I must pay 6.50€ for a DVD-R and .25€ for a CD-R for the same Effect :).

Ah, this is a very intersting question.

So in other words, you have made a MiniDVD.
Yea there is some special about it. Not all DVD players are able to play MiniDVD's.

But you did everything perfect. It should play that way in a settop player too.
Try going to a supermarket, and test the CD-R there in several DVD players.

Ahhh
I thought a Mini DVD was a 8cm...
But if the CD-R is "like" a Mini DVD now, than this is the solution.
My Stand Alone can't play a Mini DVD.
I will check out the other forums to find a compatible Stand Alone to check the Mini DVD aka CD-R :)

It might just be the way you recorded it.

Use Nero 5578 and select CD-ROM(UDF/ISO)for your compilation. This is the last option on the list.

Make 2 folders. AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. Drag the contents of disc 2 into the VIDEO_TS folder and burn it.

I've only tried this once to test but it worked perfectly.

It is really important to have .8 Version of Nero ?
I have the .3 Version that also contains this format.

I have used RecordNow Max 3.01 for my "test".

I will try it out with Nero, maybe it works than on my Stand Alone too.
