Try using the Imgtool.exe 1.61 SE on its own without calling it from Ifoedit.
1) Select Source Dir. This is the folder where you have ripped your movie, eg. c:/movie. This dir should contain a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS.
2) Drive. (drop down list) Select drive letter that you don't already have.(eg."z")
3)Click "Make Drive" this will create a temp drive, which can be removed when finished using "Delete Drive"
4) Select "DVD Image" This will open a new dialog.
5) In the DVD Drive box you want to put the temp drive you created in step 2 ("z"). use the "...." button to the right to find it.
6)Output image file. This is where your created image will end up before burning. Use the "...." button to locate (make sure the destination drive has enough space).
7) Volume title. Name of film.
8) Create disc image check box. Once clicked this will start making your .img file and show status of completion.
9) Just burn completed ".img" back to disc.......done
Works fine for me anyway.

If you want to use imglib.dll with ifoedit, it must be in same folder as ifoedit:confused: I think.

I still have not been able to create an image with ifoedit... I have also never heard of imgtool.exe, Do you know where I can find it so I will be able to create them.
I can burn dvd-r's with pioneer dvr-a03 and they play on my set top Sony, but when I have to ReMpeg the movie, sometimes I have problems with the movie freezing or skipping. Could this be a problem fixed by imagiong first or is it a media problem???

dvd_maniac,
I would say that you are more than likly using cheap media. I have had problems with pausing, and put it down to cheap disc's.
With the image tool you can create an image file using the image button in IFOEDIT (ensure you install both progs in same directory,
although I have had more luck using it as a standalone (not with Ifo Edit). If you need to create an image over 3.99G and using FAT32 or similar formatted Hard Disk, your image will fail at 3.99G.(you need NTFS for image files larger than 3.99G). I don't think this is the problem you're having but I always create an image first as it seems to be compatable with more set top players, and is the only way I can get a dvd to play on the PS2 (everytime). If you want me to send you Ifoedit, then e-mail Click Here (phil.healey@cwcom.net). I will also type up some instructions if it helps (please state in e-mail if you want these as I will have to type them up which takes time).Ifoedit is a zip file and only 770KB. If you prefer to download yourself then here is the link http://mpucoder.dynodns.net/derrow/image.html.
Good Luck:)

Part of the original question was re the use of CCE vis-a-vis ReMPEG. CCE offers far better quality and compression options but you cannot remux the re-encoded stream back using IFOEdit. You have to demux the original audio stream (DVD2AVI, VOBEdit, etc.) and then use an authoring software to mux it back together. If you have ac3 5.1 then your choices in authoring software are limited to the more expensive (and hard to 'find') ones - the most easy to use that can handle 5.1 is SpruceUp but that is no longer 'sold'.
