Ok, I just figured out how to use smartripper stream function to demux to ac3 and m2v. So, now can I load the m2v file into CCE and create a new m2v file that's a little smaller (by reducing bitrate), and then just load both the new m2v and ac3 into Maestro and Im all set? I dont care about menus and such in this case...

No help ? hm... ok, how about this: is it possible to use rempeg on the last one or two vob files (lets say vts_01_4.vob and _5.vob)? Or it has to use first file vts_01_1.vob?

sure, if you like you can re-mpeg only one part of the vobs...
but you must do the following:
1. copy the disired vob to another location on disc
2. rename it to vts_01_1.vob and let ifoedit create ifos from this vob
3.)cut the vob with smartripper into ac3 and m2v with streamripping
4.)re-mpeg the *.m2v with rempeg or tmpgenc
5.)mux the new m2v (should be smaller?!?) with your vob together (step2)
6.)rename the vob to its original name (e.g. vts_01_4) and put the (smaller) vob to your film back
thatīs it (in the end Iīm going to rip the film again with nothing, to become the same 1024kb files like original, donīt know if this is a must, I donīt think so but it looks better)
btw.: you will notice nothing in your film (that at THIS point it has been rempeged, except u have lowered the bitrate too much)

One more thing. What if I need not one, but two VOBs? whats the difference in the process? How do I rename them? vts_01_1.vob and vts_01_2.vob?

To DEMUX a VOB file you can use TMPGEnc or vStrip...

Use Smartripper... Demux the m2v and the ac3. Then use REMPEG2 to size down the m2v file...and use this calculator:http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/Files/bitrate/BitrateCalc/BitrateCalc.html
Go to www.dvd2dvdr.com if you need more help

Ok, my main problem is the remux ... I'm lost on how to remux properly.. I have the m2v file and ac3 file... now what? I open ifoedit, and I click on open, then select vts_01_0.ifo file, then select remux m2v option in the menus, select my new smaller m2v file (the one I just made with rempeg2), select output dir, and click OK, but nothing happens.. what am I missing? Can somebody describe in details the remuxing process? I can do the demux now very well, but the main problem is remux it back and join it with the main movies..
Thanks!

I use a program called SpruceUp to remux and author my own menu's... Its very simple and works great. You just name your m2v and ac3 file the EXACT same name... Then import media asset into spruce up.. And it remuxes them for you and compiles the dvd ... It will even burn directly to your burner if its compatable.
