I have been using IfoEdit to strip out the unwanted parts of a dvd that I dont want. I then use rempeg2 to re-encode the vobs and keep the DTS audio. Problem is that a lot of the DTS discs are very large and the main feature itself is about 6GB in size. Rempeg2 does reduce the size to fit on a DVD-R but the loss in quality is unacceptable. I have tried to use CCE and the video quality is good, but I can't seem to get the original audio file to sync with the new video file.

Will I have to re-author the whole thing, or is there a way to get a better quality output from rempeg2. I have been reading through the forums for an answer to this but alas I have had no luck finding anyone who has achieved the result I am looking for.

Getting desparate now to find if there is any way to over come my problem. Sorry if this question has previously been answered, but I cant find it in the forum.

this is the guide you're looking for: http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-cce.htm

it's not so hard really, just stick to the description and you can use ifoedit and cce. You can also use other programs to re-author (many DVD authoring guides can be found here: http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvdr-guides.htm) I'm afraid the last step is still quite complicated (if you're familiar with a hex editor you may want to look into this: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17400) .. but derrow is working something so in due time the process will become much simpler.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I am going to give your suggestions a look and hopefully I will understand it. Still looking forward to a simplified version from derrow. Good luck Derrow.

I have printed out the guides and going now for some heavy reading. Fingers crossed.

Thanks again.

Hi Doom9, tried out your suggestions and followed the instructions you gave me. It works and the quality and sync are spot on. Best result I have had to date. Works through Power DVD and I am trying it on a rewritable now.

Thanks again.
