View Full Version : loosing menus when remux m2v of main movie

Folks,

I am loosing the menus (apparently in VTS_01_0.VOB) when trying to remux the newly ReMPEG2-ed m2v stream back to VTS_01_xx.VOBs.

I used a CFFL list file, and the m2v is just playing fine, as well as the VTS_01_xx.VOBs are playing fine indivdually.

When comparing the original VTS_01_0.IFO and the new one IfoEdit created after the remux, the menu part is missing from the new one.

The VTS_01_0.VOB fine is intact, and in the same directory, where the rest.

Oh, and one DVD did not play at all, while the other time another one plays the main move right away, skipping the menu.

I spent almost two hours digging around the IfoEdit and the DVD forums really, still I could not find a similar topic.

I remember some time ago there was a guide on Doom9 titled "DVD9 to DVD5 keeping the menus" or so, but I could not find it now.

I appreciate your help
Thanks:confused:

If the new IFO file doesn't contain the Menu-stuff anymore, then you probably selected the option to create new IFO files!

This option is for the Movie-only copy-mode!
Uncheck this option if you want to keep the menu.

Thank You, Derrow.

In the meantime I went back and did redo my last project, without checking the "create new IFO files" box.

What happened is that IfoEdit still created new VTS_01_0.IFO and .BUP, but I think this is normal, so I kept those.

Then, after copying back all other files needed (VTS_01_0.VOB and VIDEO_TS.*) to the same directory, plus performing the "get VTS sector" option, IfoEdit was able to play the DVD, and - yes - now with the menu!

Now I go back and burn it, than try on my standalone, as well as in the SW players.

Thanks again - God Bless U!
:)

Indeed the description of this option is now a bit irritating.

I have to change it to something like 'Movie only' or so.
