Hi there,

I've been searching and unfortunatly got nothing about turning a Pioneer DVD-A06/106S (IDE 16X/40X) zone-free without resorting to a firmware update..
In some other DVD-ROM's (Asus for one) I've been told that removing it's jumper makes it zone-free..
I'd like to know if that's possible to do on a Pioneer DVD-A06/106S or is there anything to do to make it zone-free by hardware.

Thanks,

AFAIK a firmware "upgrade" is your only option.

Thanks da franksta,
I was praing for another way out besides firmware update..
Cause doing so.. I'll have to repeat it after any format to the
OS HDD..

Nope, it's an update to the 'bios' in the drive, not on the OS. The update will stay until you update it with another firmware.
