Hi, im a complete newbie to all this Ripping and Encoding business (well dvd encoding anyway, ive done my fair share of divx :) )
Anyhoo, Ive got meself a DVD-R 4.75gb disc, i rip my film, and i burn it, now, the menus work fine, the main movie works superb, but any extras i put on the disc dont work, when u play them the video stutters but the sound stays fine, now when i demux them, the AC3 track says summit like "XXXXX AC3 T05 2_0ch 192Kbps DELAY -80ms.ac3" now is it that 80ms delay thats causing my video to stutter?
Id be greatful if you could help me with this, ive wasted too many DVD-Rs tryin to fix it :/

oh sorry forgot to mention :D
the authoring proggy is DVD Maestro and in most cases films are near max 4.75gb DVD-R disc,
I use DVD2AVI to strip ac3 and create frame serve file, then VFAPI to make a lil avi file so Cinemacraft Encoder can read and reencode,
Thing is, main movie english ac3 stream has a 0 delay and it works fine, i was thinking that cause the extras has a delay of 80ms or whatever is why teh video is stuttering?

sounds like a wrong field order.
I think it is the problem and you have to fix that with a tool, dont remember wich one.
and it has nothing to do with the delay.
hope someone else can help you more but I think it is the field order

Go get Darim MPEGChanger (included in DVMPEG) and change the Field Order to the oposite. Jitter / Field Jumping is caused due to wrong Field Order on a TV playback. You can't see on a PC because playback is NOT field based on a PC.

Great man,
you're on right track.
When u open a MPEG with the MPEG Fixer the checkbox shows the ACTUAL status to you. So it's easy for you, you either had to check or uncheck, opposite to your status. Do you copy ?
Does your Standalone support cDVD/miniDVD ? What I do regulary, when not 100% sure about Field order I burn a short sequence on a (cheap) CD-R and test on TV playback. Remember, you can't judge the field order on a PC safely. The worst thing which can happen to you is an interlaced titleset with multiple chapters, where the field order changes from chapter to chapter randomly. Not possible, well folks, I found one of this bastards: The R2 release of 2010 - Space Odyssey. Terribel to fix that. On top of that it does not burn on a DVD-R5 directly, needs re-encoding, but at which field order setting ??? Good question, in this special case I burned a DVD-RW and noted down chapter by chapter the Field Order; playing fine = OK, jumping = NOT OK => chapter needs Field Order reverse patching.
have phun,

Does the DVMPEG demo version support this field order changing beyond the 250 frame demo limit??

I guess so, the Changer.exe is unlimited. It's a standalone Application can be copied elesewhere and works over the full video.

You can also use a program called pulldown to change field order. It's on Doom9's download page. It has a fairly good readme with it. BTW, are you reencoding the extras. If so, make sure if the source is interlaced ntsc not to enable forced film with dvd2avi and to not check progressive frames within CCE. Good luck, dvdRENEGADE
