does any body know how to convert a divx movie which is encoded at 23.9fps (ntscfilm) so that i can put it onto a dvd-r.
if i re encode it to mpeg2 at 23fps the dvd authoring software will not import it cos of wrong fps and if i encode it at 25fps the movie stutters cos it drops frames.
anyone got any ideas

you could try converting the mpeg2 file separately with the audio (or demuxing at the end, whatever) and doing a pulldown on the video. later on, you can mux the files together.. (i'm not sure if the pulldown programs work with muxed files now, my skills have been dulled thanks to dvd2svcd ;))

depending on your encoder you can already tell the program to insert 3:2 pulldown flags (tmpg), or after encoding at 23.976fps you run pulldown.exe on your .m2v file and the resulting stream will be accepted in authoring programs.
