View Full Version : CPU - Quality Slider on playback

Hey everyone...

I've noticed that when setting the "Quality (CPU)" slider all the way to the left (1), then movies look sharper when watching, but there are more macro blocks in fast moving scenes. When set at quality (4), the picture is a bit blurrier, but blockiness is reduced.

Can anyone confirm this blurring at the "higest quality" setting (or are my eyes tricking me?), and what do you recommend -- something in between?

Note - this is a playback question, not encoding (but is related to Divx3).

Thanks...

Edit -- answer to this is in the "Newbies" forum, I double posted so= somebody in the know would see this... peace, out.

confirmed...that is what you will see. I usually use quality=3. Its a matter of personal preference

It's like poopity poop said.
But I like to watch with cpu=0
I consider that a good rip should look fine when cpu=0.
Especially that many times you can't use Precise or Neutral Bicubic to make a rip. So the result is already somehow blurred.
