So it is not possible to write 2 DVD R insteadof DLT ?

the other thing is, i hope you refering to burning DVD-R on S201 and not the A03, cause there is a reason why there are General and Authoring media/drives.

as for the DVD-9, im pretty sure that all dvd manuf. plants that will accept DVD-R masters, will only take single layer, you will need DLT's for DVD-9

and the other thing is, will DVDMaestro burn a dual layer project to 2 DVD-Rs?

So I need the S201 instead off A03..
Can anybody tell me who have A03.

Does the recorded DVDVideo with A03 are Copywrited & Microvision Protected ...?

Pioneer's DVR-A03 supports only DVD-R (G). and this
dvdr can only be used as single layer master
for replication.

I have also wondered if there would be a possibility
to use two dvdr instead of dlt. So far I did not
find any.

I also suspect that other models of dvdr recorders which
use dvdr (A) will also not be able to be used as dual layered
masters.

Lets see what you come up with?

The only difference between dvdr (A) and (G) is that
you can use macrovision and other copyright protections
in dvdr (A) but you can't with dvdr(G).

well, actually you CAN'T use DVD-R(G) as a production master, you either use a DVD-R(A) or a DLT.

as for burning dual layer DVD-R(A), there isnt any media available, and the current DVD-R(A) spec doesnt support it.

as far as i'm aware, the only choice for making DVD-9 is from 2 DLT's.

and on that, if you're really game, Maestro makes an IMG for each layer (i think), so you can try burning them to 2 discs and see if the producer laughs at you when you turn up.

New glass master and stamper making machines accept dvdr (G)for
replication I have tested both dvdr(G) and dvd-rw, burnt with
dvr-A03, both accepted at the replication factory and I got
1000 replicated perfect peices.

So now the only difference between G and A as I said before
is only about copyright stuff.

What I was thinking that if we have to write on 2 dlts for a
dvd9, one for each layer. Why can't we burn the same data
in two dvdrs and if the same stamper machine can make stamper
or glass master from dvdr for dvd5, it may also make stamper
from these 2 dvdr's for each layer.

I have not yet found a way to write data of two layers to
2 dvdrs so I could check with the replication factory.

Any ideas?

is there any news regarding this?

It has been an ancient subject.

Now there is no need to write 2 dvdr or dlts for dvd9. You can burn your dvd9 project on dual-layer dvd-r and send it to the factory for replication.

I have stopped using dlt ever since I found dual layer dvdr useable for this purpose.
