Hi, I ripped and m2v and an ac3 of Casino to my HD using Smartripper, and planned to re-encode the movie using rempeg (its 6.5 gigs roughly). The entire movie came to about 6.3 gigs or so, so Smartripper split the m2v file into 2 parts. The first part loaded and re-encoded in rempeg fine, but the 2nd one fails to load. I know I could always re-encode the 2nd part with tsunami or cce (but I dont have the pro cce, so I have no vbr)...but I like using re-mpeg because its quick and efficient, so I would rather try and figure out what I'm doing worng here. The m2v will play fine in windows media player, but thats really the only program that I seem to be able to load it into! Is there a way I could patch it to work? Or some wierd setting I'm missong here? I need my HD to stand as a Fat32, so I cant just create a full image in an NTFS drive....(I record alot of multi-tracked audio, so I need the speed of the fat32 over ntfs security).
Any suggestions? Thanks...

In smartripper go to settings... change your max filesize to like 9 gigs.. then use rempeg2...

thanks for the advice, but I already have the max file size disabled. My hard drive is a Fat32 drive, which has a max size restriction of 4 gigs, an NTFS drive is required for a bigger file than that....I cant really afford to reformat it, plus I need that extra bit of speed that a fat32 partition can provide. Even if I COULD though, it would still be nice to understand the technical specifications of the problem at hand...does the second m2v need a header file? or an I frame or something?

I always seem to have problems when trying to mess around with the 2nd m2v that smartripper makes. Whether it be huge audio mis-syncage or failing to load...

thanks for the info Nefarion, I guess I'll attempt the ifo/vob route then...
