Any ideas?

I think there's an mpeg decoder and ac3 decoder missing on your system.
You need to install a proper dvd-player first that provides an mpeg decoder to the system.
Try it with PowerDVD and WinDVD.

Try lowering the number of colors to 256. I did get that warning but when I lowered to 256 colors everything worked out OK. Except for some less quality when you preview the movie.

I reported this problem after installing Win XP SP1, I ended up doing a full reinstall putting SP1 back on and everything was fine.

jannic:
if you have an ATI All-In-Wonder (like me) or VIVO-card and you are running the TV in the background, you have to turn off the TV software. obviously, ifoedit uses the same drivers that the TV software does.

Hi, I have the same problem under WIN98 OS,

not some special SW not loaded?

Just uninstalled XP SP1 and everything is fine again. I definitely think there has been a direct show change with Direct X 8.1b.
