When ever i rip a dvd it always plays perfect on my computer but when i put the disc into my dvd player the video still looks good.... but it is very jerky and choppy....almost like it goes frame by frame.....its not the player and the player is set to play normally....is there something i need to do differently when ripping? i have tried 2 different types of cds, just to make sure it wasnt the media.....I really wish i could get it to play right....has anyone else had this problem? please help

This is the DVD2SVCD forum. We do not make VCD's here. If you are not using DVD2SVCD please post in the VCD forum and not here.

On the off chance that NYc0n meant SVCD instead of VCD my guess is that your standalone DVD player cannot handle the bit rate of your SVCD/VCD ( too high a bitrate ) - OR somehow your VCD/SVCD has been made in a non compliant way ..
Also - Try your VCD/SVCD on someone elses standalone player and see if it does the same thing. It may play just fine ..

what is the difference between VCD and SVCD? besides one is an mpeg1 and one is an mpeg2? And Ill check the bitrate settings...but im pretty sure i left them all at default....its a Panasonic CV36 if that makes a difference....
