OK so i have tried ripping DVDs many times with success using DVD2SVCD.

But there is this DVD, Toy Story 1 that I cant copy properly.

DVD2SVCD would finish the movie but when played on my player, the movie will go back to a certain frame for example Andy is going upstairs, it will repeat that scene at least 3 times before proceeding to the next. And this doesnt stop until after the first 15 mins of the movie, but after that the audio will be out of synch.

I also tried using DVD2AVi with tmpgenc and ended up with the same result.

The only different that I did from previous rip was I rip the DVD into my harddrive first using DVD Decrypter. I will try this time to let DVD2SVCD rip it for me and see if it will give me the same problem.

But i thought i should post this if anyone is aware of this problem?

Update :o :o :o

Good I havent deleted the vob files i copied to my harddrive using DVD Decrypter and I realized the vob files i played on my pc are doing the same :o

So it is not tmpgenc or DVD2SVCD problems.

But why could it be like this? Does this mean that DVD decypter didnt rip it properly??

Well my guess is that dvdcrypter didnt ripp it properly, when using dvd2svcd you will always want to use the internal ripper first, the vstrip and so forth.

So internal routine is better in DVD2SVCD?

I usually use VStrip because i was told it is the best ripper :o

Yes always start with internal routines. if you have problems then use vstrip.
only after trying them should you use an external ripper.

To qoute the Q + A.

Q48: I have been having sync and other problems with VOB files I have ripped with another ripper, like SmartRipper?
A: Always use the internal routines or the built in Vstrip unless you have no other choice. SmartRipper and other rippers are known to cause issues occasionally with DVD2SVCD.

Always use internal routines first. Use external ripper as a last resort.
