Hi all

i have a question... is it possible to render a movie in my home network?

Just like 3ds max 4? There i can start up a server send sends all data needed to the other pcs in the network and then all pcs connected render it! Is there any coding software available to do something like that?

No matter if its divx or mpeg2

c u soon...

only if you have a program that'll do that, the codec itself doesn't though

U might want to read up some stuff about Mosix Clusters, buddy of mine uses one to encode over his network,... (but be warned it's not M$ it's Unix&Co)

Somebody asked this question some time ago. The result was: no, there is no such program available. Maybe it wouldn't be effective at all considering the amount of data that had to be swapped continuously (you can't just take a movie, cut it in four parts and encode each of these parts - that would result in a different file than what you get from encoding one big movie). And, yes, a linux cluster would be a solution (but not an easy one...)
