I am trying to convert a DVD (NTSC, 29.97 fps, FILM 99%) to SVCD, but
the audio and video always end up being out of sync (starts out ok,
but gradually becomes out of sync). I follow the guides pretty
closely, but still can't seem to get it right. Here are my steps and
settings:
1. Rip DVD with SmartRipper
2. Framserve with DVD2AVI (forced film on)
3. Convert AC3 audio to WAV with Vob2Audio
4. Encode audio and video with TMPGEnc 2.53
TMPEnc Settings:
Video settings
Stream type: MPEG-2 Video
Size: 480x480
Aspect Ratio: 16:9 Display
Fram Rate: 23.976 fps (internally 29.97 fps)
Video Format: NTSC
Encode Mode: 3:2 pulldown when playback
Advanced Settings
Video Source Type: Non-Interlace (progressive)
Field Order: Bottom field first (field B)
Source Aspect Ratio: 16:9 525 line (NTSC)
Video Arrange Method: Full Screen (Keep aspect ratio)
Audio Settings
Stream type: MPEG-1 Audio Layer II
Sampling Frequency 44100 Hz
Channel Mode: Stereo
Bitrate: 224
5. After the encoding is complete I De-multiplex with TMPGEnc
6. I then multiplex audio and video with bbmpeg (with SVCD settings)
In the final result the audio and video start out in perfect sync,
but gradually goes out of sync as the movie plays. At the end of the
movie, the audio and video is several seconds apart.
Why is the video and the audio playing at different speeds?
Am I forgetting something or are my current settings wrong?
If someone has a solution to this problem please let me know.
