View Full Version : Problem with audio syncing....feature request

I've been trying to make a SVCD of Tomb Raider (UK PAL) - it's cheaper than a new DVD capable laptop. However using the default options (180ms startup delays) I get 'laggy' sound - it's between 0.5 and 1 second late (played in WinDVD and on my standalone). No problem I thought I've just choosen a tricky DVD I'll just re-mux manually using the programs that DVD2SVCD calls...but I had no commandline options or ini to use to do it - and I don't understand it enough.....yet.

I can do it via the Crash Recovery by starting from the last option 'Video Encoding' ( it's a nice feature being able change some not-yet-used variables mid-creation and use crash recovery ). But obviously this means I have to re-encode the video everytime just so I can check out the muxing...I just want to play about and find the right delay value. I've changed from 3-pass VBR to CBR as it is to speed things up (it's going on 2 90 min CDR anyway so CBR is not a problem). So my feature request is:-

Can you please add some more options to the Crash Recovery after 'Video encoding' like 'Muxing' 'Cutting' and 'Image File Creation'. I imagine it would be really annoying if the computer crashed after Video Encoding for anybody....especially after a successful 4-PASS VBR encode!

BTW, Has anybody else had sync problems converting Tomb Raider to SVCD with the default settings or is it just me? I'm using DVD2SVCD 1.0.7 Build 4

That is already there. Your D2S file must not be at the right position to do this. Try editing your d2s file and change the line
Project Position=??
to
Project Position=62

This should give you the other options.
