Well I tried to select 1 pass VBR and it gave me a message that selecting it might cause DVD2SVCD to produce one and a half cd image instead of only one. Anyone done this? Is this true?

I just want to see what is better in my test

1 pass VBR with temporal smoother on and bicubic resize

vs

CBR

and I ended up doing 2 pass VBR as I want it to produce cd images I set.

Known issue.
1 Pass VBR does not calculate the bitrate correctly.
You need to manually intervene.

Like has been stated many times before. CBR video quality should be as good, if not better, then multi-pass VBR.

when I have been using 1 pass vbr, and have it set to make 2 cd's, the second is usually about 770 megs.

With multipass, both cd's are 801 megs. With a Q of 5, one pass usually gives 1full and 1 near full cd.

So I am wasting time doing 4 pass vbr?

If this is true.. It would make it a lot quicker ;)

this is parcially true. Mark's statement should be

"Like has been stated many times before. CBR video quality should be as good, if not better, then multi-pass VBR, when using a very high CBR (something bigger than 2400)."
