Open it in GraphEdit to demux the video and audio stream. Save both as seperate files and use your method to compress the avi. After that open Nandub to re-multiplex your video with the audio stream.

Use the following filters for GraphEdit:
GraphEdit (Video):
File Source (Async.) -> Avi Splitter -> (Video out pin) Filewriter

GraphEdit (Audio):
File Source (Async.) -> Avi Splitter -> (Audio out pin) Filewriter

Or just buy a 99min CD and a CD-writer with overburn capability. :)

@Wakeboarder

Are you by chance the Wakeboarder you wrote dozens of emails to me?!

:D

-make the size of an AVI smaller

1) Cut some parts out (credits etc.)
2) Recompress only the audio
3) And finally recompress the video (not recommandable at all!)

You can use VirtualDub for all of this!

Altough, Acaila gave you a nice tip...

Jeez, it seems that I've started to answer the questions again.

tsk,tsk,tsk...

I'm off.

Ookie.
