View Full Version : TMPGEnc freezing when using DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc template generated by IfoEdit

For some reason my TMPGEnc v2.53 (and 2.50 for that matter)
freeze when I load the .txt -file generated by IfoEdit into
TMPGEnc (I have before that loaded the d2v -file with success and made the other settings ready as Doom9-guide suggests).
I have waited for about 2 hours and the program stays in non-responsive state. BTW, I had difficulties in calculating the bitrate -
I could not get reasonable results by dividing the size of new videostream with the length of the movie as the Doom9-guide suggests, instead I just calculated the 85 % of the average bitrate. Is that a good way to do it?

In any case, back to the main matter: have you experienced the freezing and have solutions to the problem?

The CCE-method seems a bit too complicated for me and I get skippy
end-result with ReMpeg, so I decided to go for TMPGEnc.
I am currently running ReMpeg, but I have now adjusted bit allocation adjustment for I frames to 100 %, as Derrow suggests the setting to be at his home-page in comparison to the Doom9-guide. I addition I selected Gradient as the search tecnique. If the end-result would be missing the skippy frames, I would stay with ReMpeg, but I do not have high hopes for that.

My OS is WinXP. Thank you very much for any help to any of the above matters.
