DVD Freezing during Chapter chainging

Hi all i wa wondering if any one has hd this problem of when you make the DVD and then play in set top if it's freezing during the movei or wheil it is changing the chapter? I have been haveing that problem any ideas on how to fix it? I dont wont to wast anymore DVD disk untill i get a soultion for this. Other wise they play just fine.


Ok a nother thing when the dvd freezes in the set top it will also go back one chapter or just start over agine Any ideas on this one??

The player that im useing is Sony DVP-NS700P and the disk that im using are the general ones that you buy off of www.cdrdvdrmedia.com/.

They work pretty good this is the first time that i was haveing this problem. It seems to only happen when i try to put the DVD on one DVD-R

Now i tryed The 2 DVD-R thing and the moveis work great just have to switch DVD's half way through.

So i dont know if im doing some thing wrong or if DOOMs new guieds are wrong I have copyed 45 DVD's all ready and this just started with the new guids so im lost now.

I have the same problem. I use a Panasonic LF-D311 to burn them. And the same sony set top player you have.

I found it only did it on one of my discs so far, the movie was The One. I use SmartRipper, Ifoedit, and Prassi. All versions up to date. It seems like its every chapter or so, other thing is it mis reads the chapter information i believe, thinks they are all chapter 4. Ifoedit was a later version when this happened and i am now updating it and trying a new movie. Ill watch this one through and hope it doesnt continue. If you find any info out email me or post back here, thanks.

*UPDATE* I am using the same discs, they are meritime discs. If that helps any.

Same problem. Same discs. Different Sony model (S330). This also seems to happen on my Apex AD-800 as well. I think it's probably the cheap discs.

The chapter/cell changing -> freezing problem apears if the cell information in the ifo file has the flag set to 'No' for:
'Seamless playback linked in pci'.

This flag is usually set, if on this cell is the layer-break point located.

Just set this flag to 'yes', and it shouldn't freeze anymore.

somehow i missed it the first time through---anyone else that cant find it, its in the .ifo of your movie vobs under VTS_PGCITI->VTS_PGC_1 (at least for mine) and then scroll down.

BUT now my problem is that it tells me that "This item is not editable" what am i doing wrong???

The problem is the cheap media. It doesn't handle high bitrate encoding, especially at the end of the media...

is memorex considered cheap...i don't think $14 dvd-rw to be too cheap...an i checked the bitrate viewer and the bitrate wasn't higher ath 0:38 seconds (where my 007 The World is Not enough freezes---it later continues by itself but....) the Q level in the bitrate viewer looks like its possibly higher but not the bitrate!

Hi Derrow sorry about not getting back to this i have been very bussy and just for got about this thread. I have one question well maybe two or three. Where and how do you set this? is it in the main Vob ifo for the movie or in the vts ifo part and what am i looking for? This is only happing when i use Remgpeg2 and infoedit to lower the size of the movie other wise when i just copy the movie they all work great. The movie that this is happing on so fare are You drive me crazzy, 077 the world is, Stealing beauty, and i think 2 others. Ok now when i try to fix this can i just recopy the the dvd from the burnt dvd to the HD and fix it in infoedit and then re burn a new dvd?

Thanks for the help i hope i can solve this problem its a pain haveing to hit the next chapter button all the time.

Hi Derrow just got home frome work and looked and tryed to figure this out found something not sure if this is it but this is what i found.:(

First i opend the VTS_01_0.IFO and found under that VTS_PGCITI then under that this VTS_PGC_1 Cell 1 under that one Seamless PlaybackLinked in PCI was NO all the other CELLs where YES under PCI. So i tryed to Change that one it comes up with Item is not editable. So now im lost where do i change this to solve this problem? And im i on the right track? :)

Hi all now this problem is costing me some bucks:( Well what i did is i went out and bought some other DVD-r's thinking it just might be the brand that im useing So i found these
1. Memorex at 7.99 perdisk same thing stops on chapter chaning
2. Panasonic at 17.49 perdisk guess what same thing ouch!!!!!
3. Sony at 21.99 perdisk you guessed it same thing Big ouch:(:(:(:(
4. TDK at 7.99 perdisk guess wath same thing all on same movie 007 world is not enough


this hapens on other moveis that i use Infoedit and Rempge2 on to So eather im doing some thing wrong or the guied is wrong some where or there is a software problem in eather of those two programs or Prassi is messisng up some where I have not tryed Neros yet but im going to wait for some kinda help 56 bucks in coster is way to much hell i could have just bought 3 movies for that.:)

Hi Octagon well what i did was went out and bought an Apex AD1100W dvd for 49 bucks and it all works great now tossed the 600.00 Sony in the trash money is no object i bet the trash man was happy. it all works great now.

It appears its the media for me. HOW in the fuck could a Pioneer DVD-rw freeze put the worst Generic Cdrcordable.com media doesnt. Go figure I guess. Any one think because I used Quick erase alot something to do with it. Thanks for answering though.
