After I used DVD Decryptor to copy DVD files on HD, I load Ifoedit, select VIDEO_TS.IFO file, and try to play it (click on DVD Play button) , I get that This disk is not formatted to play in this region on the screen (with movie studio logo). Other DVDs I try I get the same thing. What happened? It used to work before... Maybe I inadvertanly changed region settings somewhere? What can I do to fix it?
I live in US

Use smartripper and tick region free

When I used DVD Decrypter before, it was saving files region free by default. Everything worked fine. It changed all of a sudden... again, I might have changed some setting somewhere, but I have no idea where.. I tried to use DVD Decrypter option to patch files regioin free (by going to Tools -> IFO ->Region Patch -> Region Free), but it still wont play.

Help!

load the video_ts.ifo file in ifoedit.
click on "region free".
click, ok, select region, ok, ok, ok.

save and "enjoy your region free disc".

i had the same problem with fight club ... the way i got around it was to manualy find the jump point in the video_ts.ifo and force it to goto the menu ... look in the VMGM_PCI_UT/LU_1 of the video_ts.info ... you should see somthing that looks like

1.Pre Command: Set GPreg<9> mov SPreg<player region code>
2.Pre Command: Set GPreg<9> and sval#<15>
3.Pre Command: If GPreg<9> != #cval<1> then Goto line# 7

( it could be differnt .. but it should be close ) ... in that same place you should see

1.Pre Command: (JumpSS VTSM) Jump to TitleSet(vts): 2, Title(ttn): 1, root-menu
(basicly it says "goto the title menu 1 in vob2" .. number could be differnt and the Pre could be a Post)

double click it to bring up the hex of the menu jump .. highlight and copy it ... then go back to the "if GPreg" line .. double click that and paste the jump ... save the ifo , then try to play the dvd.

i shouldnt have to say this but ... back up your ifo's before doing this.

i'm starting to learn that ifoedit is ALOT more powerfull than it looks on the surface

RCE Protection...

I've had this with a bunch of movies also. New versions of IFOEdit will detect RCE protection and make you select a 'region' when using the 'region free' button. You then need to 'save' the IFO and do this on all IFO's including the main IFO.

I've found if you don't do them all, when you select that particular part, it will throw up the 'region' screen and will not play the content.

Today I've updated my rce-guide, and hope it's now a bit better to understand.
You might wonna have a look at it.
