Hi there.
I was trying to convert some DVB captures to SVCD (thanks DVD2SVCD to have included that in DVD2SVCD, you rock!).
When launching the conversion, the PVAInstrumento process was aborting without producing any result, while the PVAInstrumento process via the GUI was OK.
DVD2SVCD is creating this PVA_job.txt file:
offeryn pvas job v000102 # DO NOT DELETE THIS LINE
# Job Description
$JOB
# demux <infile> <videofile> <audiofile>
demux D:\031608~1.MPG E:\PLANETE\031608~1.VOB E:\PLANETE\EXTRAC~1.MPA
# Streams to demux
audio 1
video 1
# Job Parameters
$PARMS
# program options
loglevel 1
fixstart 1
sync 1
dropgop 1
dropwronggop 1
strongaudio 1
shortscan 0
setbr 1
setvbr 1
setavg 1
adjusttc 1
packsize 2324
splitsize 0
overlap 1
spliteven 0

When I try to run the command line "manually" ("C:\Program Files\video\DVD2SVCD\PVAInstrumento\cPVAS.exe" "E:\Planete\PVA_Job.txt"), extracted from DVD2SVCD log file, I get this error message:
D:\>cpvas.exe pva_JOB.TXT
PVAStrumento 2.0.16
ALERT> wrong magic number in file
ALERT> Got
offeryn pvas job v000102 # DO NOT DELETE THIS LINE
expected
offeryn pvas job v002016 # DO NOT DELETE THIS LINE

It seems that the "magic number" is the release number of PVAInstrumento. When changing this number to v002016, everything was fine (manually).
So I determined that the issue was because I had the wrong release of PVAInstrumento.
For DVD2SVCD 1.0.7 build 4, you HAVE to stick to PVAInstrumento 2.0.10 (which gives, strange enough, the "magic number" 000102, and that you can download here: http://www.offeryn.de/download/pvas2010.zip

Just wanted to share...

Cheers.

pvas v.20.11 works for me..
Maybe DVD2SVCD could update it to v.016..

Also pvas v2.013 works fine with dvd2svcd, v2.014 has a bug with the filenames, and v2.016 have some new option and need another jobfile.

Support for v2.016 and maybe setting some of the pvas-option (expert) of dvd2svcd would be a very nice thing :-)
