I'm using VobSub to display subtitles, and it works fine. Is it possible to permamnently insert the subtitles into the avi? Thanks.

in vobsub(complete package) use the tool submux!

You can only embed srt files with SubMux right now.. if you get the test version gabest posted some threads ago this one accepts ssa files for better looking subs being able to be embeded.
