View Full Version : SRT --> SSA ? (or SRT blending directly into video)

Hi !
I've got a problem : I made a subtitle using my notepad and the SRT Format.
Now, I'd like to convert it into SSA format (and then use the VirtualDub plugin to put it directly into video, because of an accent problem), but when I use a converter, it forgets the line breaks... That's very bad, cause when there are dialogs such as :

Blah Blah...
- Blah !

It appears like this :
Blah Blah...- Blah!

So, in fact, my question is : How to put my subtitles directly into the video without losing the line breaks ?

Thanks by advance :D

Try replacing all the \n for \N.

Well, I made nice tool for converting SRT to SSA (will solve this and other problems :) ).

It have nice fatures: support styles (fonts, colors, encoding ..),
overriding styles (for particular lines and/or part of text in lines), detecting longest line, autosizing, simple preview, projects, predefined styles ... It is optimized for VirtualDub SSA subtitling plugin.

Sorry if this is not thematic post but I would like to somebody test it (I did but you know ... :) )
