I have tried 2 movies in my DVD player using different methods on Princo DVD-R - neither played. They just skipped for about 4 seconds then stopped. They play OK in my PC
The one I tried on my Pioneer DVD-R that I had with the burner worked fine. Is anyone else having any problems with the Princo DVD-Rs? They are cheap, but there is no point if they don't play well in stanalones. This testing is becoming quite expensive!

Found same with Datasafe Media too. So far, the Pioneer disc is the only one to play in my Aiwa 370.

I'm using Princos without problem, on my Loewe standalone, it works fine on Nintaus, Philips and LG players.

About my last post.
I have try harder the Princo Media, and some films freze after some minutes of play.
In the start I think that all it's ok, because all the films start to play, but after some minutes all sucks.

Upadate! I used Prassi to burn the disc and it almost worked! Well up to the last 20 mins of a 3 hour film, then it started skipping. So, I think my problem was that my DVD player like them to be written with Prassi, but Princo are still a little faulty. Now with this method I think the Datasafe or other cheap brand should work. (I'll use my remaining Princos for data)

I Have try prassi to on Fast and Furious image.
All works fine, the film run without problems.
When I use Instant Vob to burn image 3 in 5 freeze after some minutes of film.
Maybe the problem is not from Princo media, I will continue try.
Any more feedback ?

What are the best cheap discs to buy instead of Princos then? Datasafe? Totally unbranded? I live in the UK.

The one's that I've been using successfully are unbranded, but I've heard them referred to as DVDPro (meritimes site refers to them as this). The covers look very similar to the orange Pionner dvd-r covers, and the discs themselves come in either purple with white print, or totally blank. They have worked great in my Apex and PS2, and I've burned successfully with many programs (nero hasnt worked yet though).

Merritline ($2.29/disk@25) work fine in my standalone Sony DVP-NS500V, Sony DVP-CX-860 and Apex AD-600A(with the firmware upgrade). Although I must burn the disk with Prassi PrimoDVD because it won't work with Nero.

I've tried Datasafe now - even worse. I'm beginning to think it is my fussy DVD player (Aiwa 370. The only one I've got to work perfectly was the Pioneer DVD-R. Has anyone out there got an Aiwa XV-370 (I think that's the model). I am in desperate need - I think I'm ngonna have to sell it and get another one.

I have an Aiwa CX-NDV526 (a 3 disc dvd changer, 5.1, etc) and i've used the cd-recordable.com discs without too much problems (meritline are crap, I bought them when they were $2.85 each and had nothing but problems, even on my Pioneer 525).

The best are still apple/pioneer's, but they're too expensive I guess...though i've heard rumors that they're dropping the price to $3.70 or something like that within the next few weeks

I need help, in the last 5 backups, 4 off them, freeze in the last chapters, all seams ok, but after a few minutes the film starts to freeze and finaly stops.
I'm using the following method :
Rip only main film files with DVDDecrypter
Open Ifo on Ifoedit, strip VOB and languages, create new IFO, on new location.
Open new ifo, get VTS, make image and burn using PrimoDVD.

When readed in standalone or Power DVD, it freeze after 50-80 minutes.
Using Princo DVD-R, on XP Pro with A03 1.65, any help, please ??
What's the problem Princo Media, Ultra DMA settings (I change to Pio this morning, but don't check), frimware, method ?????

Thanks,
