TheOgg Machine can create Ogg files with ~57kbps, but what's that in MP3 or which Ogg bitrate is 128kbps MP3, and so on...

well, I say a 75kbit/s (-q1.5?) Ogg Vorbis is the same quality as a VBR Lame 128kbit/s mp3

theres only so many frequencies in an audio file.you can only take so many out before you start hearing it.ogg is better than mp3 for sure but not by that much.

I good starting point is around 96kbps. Do a listening test and go up or down after.

imho, 70-80 kbit vorbis is good enough for a movie.
