View Full Version : adding a codec?

I have the source code, but am fuzzy on how to add code necessary for Nandub to be able to use other codecs. VirtualDub will use a number of codecs, so I'm wondering what would have to be done for Nandub to be able to use additional ones, or for a specific one.
Has anyone done this, and can they direct me to the module or modules that I would have to change, and if per chance, can direct me to specific lines of code. This would be appreciated. Thanx.

Uh . . . probably not, no video codec anyway. I think the reason for Nandub's creation was FOR DivX 3.11 SBC.

Nandub is created solely for DivX3.11, you might say it's hardwired. All of its settings apply only to that codec, and changing flags to another codec in the source would simply not work or need to be fully reprogrammed to comply with the codec you have in mind.

Nandub is created solely for DivX3.11 !
then someone put the option to encode with MPEG4v2, we should catch him!

Not really!
This option was coded by nando cause people were asking for a legal codec to use with nandub and MSMPEG4V2 was legally usable in avis.
BTW: DivX 3.11 is in fact only a hacked MSMPEG4V3, wich is the successor of MSMPEG4V2 and was locked against use in avis by M$.
