did Cast Away using doom's Gknot guide exactly....

I used that weird "psychoeffects" or whatever at "normal", and did the 3 extra's (B-frames, etc)

average bitrate @ 1241 (2 disks)

full resolution, VBR MP3@avg128

4 hours later, WHAM!!!

absolutley smooth and beautiful film that is 1384 MB!!!

BTW, that was my first VBR encode using Gknot ;-]

oh, I forgot to add, the bitrate calcs in gknot can predict almost perfectly if you select divx4

Have you tried to split it with AviSplitCalc?

no, I just use vdub for splitting, since that is the easiest way IMHO....

why, is splitting an issue??

I'm burning a DVD right now, so I can't check it....
