Hi!
Please excuse my question, I know there must be a simple explanation but I don't get it: I tried to make a 700MB-1 CD rip, with I intended to use the ogg format, because I wanted to keep both languages from DVD. Thus I entered the filesize from both ogg-tracks into audio a + b fields. Then GKnot did first & second-pass automatically, main-movie and credits separately. But something went wrong... The resulting second-pass file was 783MB without audio, which clearly is far to big. I took al look inside the log and there where some strange error-messages:
15:06:39: Started DivX3-First Pass: E:\Fight Club\fight club.avs
15:06:46: Finished DivX3-First Pass. Duration: 6 seconds.
15:06:46: Speed: 13.192 Frames per Second.
15:06:46: ERROR: Calculation impossible! Desired Video Size is bigger than First Pass (= maximum divx-size for this filter-combination).
To solve this you can: 1) lower your Total Size. 2) lower your Video Size (e.g. add bigger audio).
3) do another first pass at a higher resolution or with other filters.
15:06:46: ERROR: Please read the included How-To to understand better what happened!
15:06:46: WARNING: Encoding continued anyway.
15:06:46: WARNING: Filesize will be approximately 548731 kb lower than desired (but best possible quality for this filter combination).
15:06:46: WARNING: Thats an average bitrate of 0 k(=1024)bit/sec (=the highest possible bitrate)
15:06:46: WARNING: instead of 560 k(=1024)Bits/s (=your desired bitrate).
15:06:46: Created new stats-file: E:\Fight Club\fight club_0_kbps.stats
15:06:46: Created ecf: E:\Fight Club\fight club.ecf
So what does this mean? First pass was only 6 Seconds!? I looked at the .stats file and it's only 6KB in size. There must something went wrong with first pass.. but why?? Any idea? Thanks a lot,
