You can download a version that will create a self-booting diskette.
I guess the reason I am bringing this up as it (gulp) indeed does find problems. The machine I ran it on appeared to run fine and occasionally only act a little odd. But oh boy, running this little puppy made me trash the memory very quickly.
As a matter of fact I suggest running this whenever you buy a new memory stick, especially one of those no-name ones while you can still exchange them.
I believe this tool can explain a lot of CCE problems!
