@chainsaw135
I tried mirroring your settings for the movie Shrek which is 1 hour and 38 minutes.
I ended up with 2 804meg bin files.
burned them on 70 minute cds and tried it out.
Perfect audio and video quality. (what a difference 5 pass makes)
Cd 2 ends half way through the credits (which isn't that big a deal)
Split point = no overlap (resulting in about 3minute movie loss)
any other suggestions?
I may just try using each dvd2svcd component seperately. (the hard way)
I'm sure if I tried smaller movies it would work fine but I thought I would be fine up to 2 hour movies.
@everyone
Has anyone done Shrek? and if so, what settings did you use.
I don't really care about the credits but I am really curious how people are getting the cd overlap to work; of all my unsuccessful testing, not once has the overlap worked.

Hey glad you like those settings,.....i'm testing something for dvd2svcd right now to see if we can figure out the problem with the second bin file either being to small or to big. As you might of seen when i did shrek, my 2nd bin file was to big ect, I will be done with the test in like 4 hours. So i'll let everyone know how it worked out in this thread here.

Hi -=:|AdReNaChRoNe|:=-,
I did Shrek (PAL R2) two times in the past with these settings (IIRC):
internal routines for ripping
192kb audio no downsampling 1 stream
2450kb Max and 2250 kb Max. avg
4-pass VBR bicubic/simple
movie offset 2 sec
CD overlap 5 sec
2 800 MB CDs
no subs
change cd pic but no title pic
vcdxbuild with dvd chapters
and ended up with always 2 807 MB images with no part of the movie missing with perfect quality.

Gerti

@chainsaw135
perhaps just you and me have a 2nd bin file which is a tad too big (overburn required) cuz we both don't use cd change pic nor title pic? I don't anymore (only cuz I'm too lazy to type in the name of the dvd). If your not using those either then perhaps it thinks we have more MBs than we really do.

@MrBass Yes that could be true, i dont use either of those ...so that might be why most people are having no trouble. Whatever dvd2svcd did with the exe file he sent me it fixed my problem WOOHOOO. AWsome thanks alot for such quick action...

Hi -=:|AdReNaChRoNe|:=-,
why don't you download the new DVD2SVCD 1.0.7 Build 4? - See the Sticky above and the Bugfix list. ;)

Hello -=:|AdReNaChRoNe|:=-,
:confused: :D - Oh my God! - I sure hope my English is not as bad as this automated translation is. It took me quite a few minutes to get the meaning of it. ;)
Anyway, please write in English - pleeaase - it really hurts (the translation). :D
But back on topic, have a look at the thread dvd2svcd put the new update on - I'm sure you could bet that this build is not older than the one chainsaw135 got from dvd2svcd for testing purposes - I would say it is indeed a newer version.

ok, sorry about the rough translations. (my german is limited to "ich mus pipem gain, and bitte)
can you post the link to the thread of which you speak?
now onto something a little more strange.
i just tried doing an 88 minute NTSC title on 2 cds and got crappy results at the split point once again.
however, when i looked around a bit, i found that the muxxed files that bbmpeg creates were perfectly split and they had an overlap aswell. now the weird part is that they played in balck and white and each files was 795megs. No wonder the images are 800 megs and no wonder I am getting crappy split points. It can't all fit on a 700 meg cd! What the hell kind of media are you guys using? are you using some special 800meg cd-r or is it overburn? I could understand 30 megs or so of overburn, but 100? Can anyone shed some light on this?:confused:

@Yes -=:|AdReNaChRoNe|:=- The latest version with the cd overlapping fix is in the thread just like Gerti67 said. I would also wait to do any testing of file sizes or worring about the sizes till you get the latest build.

Hi again,
I'm speaking of this Sticky:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15623
Just have a look at the time of dvd2vcd's last post in this thread then you can see when he has put the new version online (he usually does this right after uploading it - I guess).
So you will see that this post is the latest one containing some hint on a new D2S version - and therefore I assume it is the most actual build.
And have a look at this:
- Bugfix: Fixed an overlap bug which could result in a too large last cd image. I think this is the fix to your problems.
