Can anyone help me with this problem?
I had this movie on DVD wich I wanted to put on DVD-R.
First I ripped all the extra's and menu's and unwanted audio and subtitle streams.
So then I had my new VOB's with just the main movie, 1 audio stream and 2 subtitle streams.
But it still was to big so I reencoded the video stream using CCE.
Now I want to multiplex my new videostream with the 1 audio stream and the 2 subtitles using Sonic Scenarist.
But how do I get my subs into Scenarist?

Thanks in advance for any help.

BTW I'm a newbie so please make it a little "in depth" :)

Launch subrip (available @doom9.org in the download area).

Open your vob files. (.ifo file too if you have it, this will allow you to select the language if you dont know which sub stream is which) check all the vobs you want to rip subs from.

Select the Save Subpictures as BMP radio button, check the +TC & Res box

Click start, enter a filename to save as...

The cropping dialog will then open,

Select the cropping tab, Check the Allow BMP Cropping box

Set Minimum Pictue width and height to 720 and 480 ( 576 for pal)
Set Vertical alignment to Bottom. Click ok

Once all the images have been created goto the subtitles text window, set the output format to I-Author, click file save as, enter a name eg File.txt, click ok.

Launch SS3Cnvtr.exe (also at doom9.org)
open the file.txt you just created and click start.

This will create a file s3sub.sst, import this file into the track editor of scenarist.

This method works pretty well, sometimes you have to run a time correction in subrip before saving the .txt file.

There may be better methods out there but this is just the way I do it.

Mad.

hello sorry for my english I'm from Switzerland.

What do you mean with "you have to run a time correction in subrip before saving the .txt file."

I've made a DVD pal and I've got this erro message in Scenarist :

\DEAD_POETS_SOCIETY\subs\s3sub.sst)
Error Timecode is overlapping at this sub-picture. [00:00:01;10 - 00:00:02;24]
Error Timecode is overlapping at this sub-picture. [00:00:00;17 - 00:00:04;14]
Error Timecode is overlapping at this sub-picture. [00:00:36;12 - 00:00:37;19]

What I have to do ???

Try to check "Enable this checkbox if timecode resets in..." and look D9's Scenarist guide for other rip methods.

Sorry about that...
in SubRip - Open VOB dialog (on the bottom left)
