Hi,
Anybody use regulary the Micro-DVD player and ini file editor?
I am deep in the middle of my first attempt, and I must say it is amazing the amount of detail that goes into this. Those of you who take the time to do SVCD menus and chapters know what I mean.
It looks like I am going to be able to do this, though, on 2cds....
I didn't want to go to three because that is just awkward.
Anybody else attempting (doing) this?

I've done a few MDVD menus, my best one being the (animated) X-Men menu, which is a straight copy of the original DVD menu. But recently I didn't do this for my backups anymore, for 2 reasons.
1. MDVDP isn't my favorite player anymore. Zoomplayer and BSPlayer are better.
2. Creating these menus takes way too much time for something you look at maybe 30 seconds.
The nice thing about it however is that you can impress your friends with having the coolest looking divx movies. :D

Update:
I have finished configuring the main movie and am now deep into making the menus and chapter selections work.
This is exhausting work! I'll keep everyone posted here....
But it's fun, too. I just hope it comes out looking good...

SaVe,
To make sure that your loops work correctly in MDVD do the following:
1. Code the menu.avi in 29.97 fps(if NTSC) or 25fps(PAL), otherwise neccessary frames needed for the menu will be missing.
2. When you code the menu.avi set the keyframes to 30(if NTSC) or 25(if PAL). Doing this will GAURANTEE precise seeking for loop points.
3. Make sure you include the video range in your page. Here's an example(From Rush Hour 2):
[PAGE=21]
CopyFrom=14
BackgroundMode=1
VideoRange=6845-7440
VideoLoop=1
SelectionAvailable=1
I hope this helps you out.
Personally I code all my menues with the default editor that comes with MDVD and Notepad.

Btw. If you want to have instant seeking on your chapter selections with NO wait time, code your movie with keyframe 24(NTSC Film), 30(NTSC), or 25(PAL).
